I’d like to thank you guys for your support last month. We didn’t get to the goal, but, still the donations received helped out quite a lot.

Anyways, it’s a new month and a new objective. Actually, it’s the old objective but starting out from scratch. And two things to remember:

1.- If I meet my goal this month (and subsequently, each month) I’ll update the comic 5 times a week instead of 3. That is more Wyliman for your viewing pleasure! Also, means that whenever I do an experimental story I’ll go on by faster *wink* (and cliffhangers won’t last that long).

2.- The ways you can help out! In the incentives page are some wallpapers you can get and more will be added each month, so there’s always going to be some variety. Commissions also help out towards the monthly goal and plus, you get a nifty piece of original artwork. I’m still working around how to handle giving TPBs out, not because the price of the book, but on how not to cripple myself financially with the shipping. And most importantly, let your friends (or followers if you are a social media active) know about the comic! Each page and post have ‘em share buttons laying below them. Use them, they’re your friends.

Anyways, that’s it for now, thank you very much again and I hope I can keep counting with your help.

First of all, hope all of you will have an awesome 2012! May it be filled with success and whatnot’s! Also, this past January 1st, Wyliman has been online for 6 years, so, YAY to that!

Now, to business: As some of you may know, I plan to move to the U.S. late this year. As I’ve been lucky enough to make a decent living here, making this move will involve a good monetary investment (and not counting all the cons I’m doing this year to keep spreading the word about the comic). Money is tight right now, the good luck fairy hasn’t been showing up that much lately, so I decided to reach out directly to you guys.

As you can see, there’s a progress bar on the left side of the website. My monthly goal is $800, that’ll help me pay my bills perfectly. If I reach my goal every month, I’ll update the comic from Monday to Friday for the next whole month. So that’s more Wyliman for you!

That’s not all: soon enough I’ll add some incentives to give you more bang for you buck. That’ll include Wyliman trade paper backs ( both signed and regular editions), wallpapers and other nifty things (suggestions are welcomed). For the next 4 Saturdays, I’ll upload a new wallpaper and then I’ll upload a new one each month. Also, a limited amount of commissions are open, and that money will go to the goal as well.

So, if you have some bucks laying around, please, consider supporting this little corner of the web comics universe to keep it rolling. Every bit is very appreciate it.

And if you are unable to donate some money, please, please please please, I can’t stress this enough: help me promoting the comic. Under each page there’s a selection of the most common social networks. Please use them to spread the word about the comic. Or just copy the link and paste it in your preferred social network. Tell your friends about it, share with them your favorite pages or chapters, let them know they might like Wyliman as well!

Part of a larger animation that’ll soon be revealed. Animated by the amazingly talented Erin Humiston.

Once again, I’m hitting Orlando for nice two and a half weeks of vacations (FINALLY!). I’m really pumped for this trip, it’s been a tiring yet exciting year, but I need a bit of a break now. I’ll be with my awesome friends Erin and Christine of the BAND COMIC fame that YOU should check out.

Just letting you know quickly (‘cos I haven’t even packed yet), the comic WILL keep updating on it’s regular schedule. There might be a little of a bumpy ride for Monday’s and Wednesday’s pages, but they will get published on their respective date, dunno if on their respective programmed time. Coming up, is Chapter 33: Romance. It’s my 24 hour comic for this year.

I’ll try to have some online presence while I’m out, but, come on, it’s vacations, it means taking a break from the internerd too.

Anyway, I get back home on December 6th. So until then, take care and spread the Wyliman love all over the internet!

A quick backstory to this: There’s this show going on in Mexico this weekend called Festo Comic. One of the highlights of the whole thing is that C.B. Cebulski (from Marvel Comics) is coming to do portfolio reviews. They handed out a script for everyone interested in getting a review, could do those pages, submit them and the people organizing this would select a group of “participants” to then get the interview/review with Cebulski.

Anyway, I didn’t get selected (if it was for lack of ability, I accept that, if it was because it’s cartoony, I think it’s a big mistake). And since there’s no risk now (I think) I wanted to show them publicly. I had a lot of fun with them. And thanks to the guys who I showed them to before hand for the feedback and for saying “this would get me to buy superhero comics again“. Reaffirms my idea that there IS a market for these kind of comics IN the superhero genre.

In any case, I can still use these for the future. And as well, this motivated me more to work on that Great Lakes Avangers proposal.

Pinta a que va a ser algo excelente y es algo que a este país le hace falta. Espero que tenga tanto éxito que sea algo que se vuelva una constante, un evento que muchos de nosotros esperemos para ser parte de él. Sé que tuve muchas opiniones encontradas durante toda la especulación inicial hacia el evento (opiniones las cuales no me retracto de ninguna), pero, nunca perdí el entusiasmo por que el evento por fin viera la luz.

Voy a estar presente en el evento (en la mesa #3, casi justito en la entrada) y voy a llevar los 3 libros recopilatorios de Wyliman (el tercero haciendo su debut en su versión en Español ahí mismo en el evento), arte original a la venta, algunos tomos individuales sueltos, mini comics, una MUY limitada cantidad de otro mini comic en el que participe (solo llevo 5 copias, las ultimas que quedan del primer y quizá único tiraje), objetos misceláneos (stickers, botones, postales) y estaré ofreciendo sketches (los precios estarán listados hasta el evento).

Sin más que decir, espero verlos ahí y adelante con el video.

New York Comic Con is happening this week! And as always that I do one of these because there’s not much point in doing it otherwise, I’m going to be there!

This time I won’t have my own table, although, I will be sitting behind a table selling my stuff (and no, it won’t be a table outside the building, you snarky bastard). The good guys of Indie Spinner Rack will be hosting/sharing/having-to-deal-with me at their table at Podcast Arena.

So, if you are in the area or are attending anyway, be sure to go by their table and say hi, even if I’m not there, have a talk with Charlito and Mr. Phil, you won’t meet any nicer guys.

As always, the comic will keep updating while I’m out (I leave on Wednesday and I come back home on Monday). Show those sharing buttons some love and spread the Wyliman love all over the internet’s face. Ok, maybe that went kinda far.

The oficial day is October 1st, but I’m doing it this Friday (September 30th), because Saturday’s now have turned into a sacred thing (it’s like the only day I step out from the house to interact with other human beings).

In the strict sense of the word, I’ll do it on Friday, meaning, from midnight to midnight. I’m cheating this time, I already have a story planned (by that, i mean, like I always plan my stories, I just have a loose idea and I improvise the rest of the way), and I need to knock  bunch of pages for the comic in a short amount of time, so this is convenient.

Anyway, I dunno if I’ll live stream the whole thing again this year, it’s more up to you, so, whadda ya think? Wanna see me descend that spiral of insanity, live, once again?

I’ll keep this short because I really don’t want to bore you with a massive text. If you wanna know more about it, shoot me an e-mail or better yet, talk to me in person and I’ll tell you all about it.

Due to personal stuff happening from some months now, I’m not able to commit to me work schedule on Wyliman like I want to. Let’s just say, it’s better if I slow down a bit and regain the full love for what I do than to burn out of it and completely drop it.

Anyway, I’ll update the comic on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Yep, one of those.

I hope this won’t last long. I’m sure it’ll be back to it’s Monday to Friday schedule, but I dunno when (hopefully “soon”).

This will give me more time to work more peacefully on other projects on the table and try to put my life back in order.

So yeah, that, I’m not happy about it, but it’s better that the other choice: Quitting. (And for the ones that know me, yeah, I know, foot in mouth)
